A Musical Interlude

As I am writing, I’m listening to an MP3 of Foo Fighters’ “This Is A Call”. I am a big Foo fan, and heartily recommend ‘em to anyone who likes alternative-flavored rock music. It’s hard to sing along with this song at the top of my lungs, however, as I am wont to do, much to the chagrin of my upstairs neighbors. The reason that it’s so tough for me can be discerned by reading the lyrics to “This Is A Call”, printed below for your convenience:

Foo Fighters
This Is A Call

visiting is pretty
visiting is good
seems that all they ever wanted was a brother
this can be a secret
we can keep it good
even all the ever wanting had a problem

this is a call to all my
past resignations
this is a call to all

fingernails are pretty
fingernails are good
seems that all they ever wanted was a marking

them balloons are pretty big
and say they should
ever fall to ground
call the magic marker

this is a call to all my
past resignations
this is a call to all

this is a call to all my
past resignations
it's been too long

minicyn is pretty
minicyn is good
seems that all the cysts and mollusks tend to barter

ritalin is easy
ritalin is good
even all the ones that watered down the daughter

See? I had to get on the Internet and look up the lyrics to reproduce them here, of course. I’m not even going to tell you what lyrics I was singing before I looked them up…. Dave Grohl fronts Foo Fighters, by the way. You may remember him as the drummer for Nirvana. I believe he plays the guitar with the Foo’s, however, but I might be wrong. I’d hop on the web and verify this, but I’m just too damn lazy, frankly. If you’re ambitious, check out (you guessed it) www.foofighters.com. You can also find the above lyrics on their site, if you don’t believe me. Also, if you figure out what ‘minicyn’ is, let me know.

Seems that all the cysts and mollusks tend to barter?
